Champagne Cocktails

Stir things up, and offer your guests some spirited champagne. Champagne and sparking wine are often only consumed on New Years Eve, and as a result not many know of all the different ways to enjoy this classic beverage.


Mimosa »

For many the ideal way to serve Champagne, on Christmas morning or on New years day, is to mix their champagne with orange juice.  A simple 50 -50 mix of juice and Champagne and you have the Mimosa. Note: Some suggest the addition of an ounce of orange liqueur. The original Mimosa is credited to the Ritz Hotel in Paris and was originally served in 1925.

The Champagne Cocktail

Bucks Fizz »

Often interchanged with the Mimosa, the one variation being the addition of grenadine to give it a different color and sweetness.

French 75 »

Henry's bar in Paris is credited with this popular mix of Champagne and Gin. It's popularity has spawned many variations taking on different numbers - French 25, 45 , 65 etc. 

The Bellini »

This classic champagne drink, currently enjoying a revival, was originally created At Harry's Bar in Venice. The mix of champagne with peach nectar (or juice) is a wonderful way to enjoy champagne.   For a festive variation on this try the Holiday Bellini  with apricot liqueur or try champagne with cranberry juice for a very festive version of the Bellini.

The Champagne-tini »

The ongoing popularity of the martini was bound to reach out and use champagne. Similar to the French 75 (made with Gin and Champagne), this drink adds a touch of orange liqueur and becomes a Martini when served in a martini style glass.
